GC Selects Radio Show 9/28
Hey guys as of now I’m pretty busy with school, djing, and…living. But I got a new radio show played on wsam.hartford.edu from 12-2pm on Tuesdays. Not exactly sure why the feed doesn’t always work but it seems to work on Macs once you follow the instructions. So to make up for not posting songs as often as I did over the summer I will definitely be posting songs every week as a follow-up to my show. The songs will include the track list I made for the show, I do the entire show live and I actually pick the songs as I go along so enjoy the randomness that is Garebear at 12pm on a Tuesday mixing.
Because I have this site tied to my show I cannot deliver every single track as a download due to copyright laws, blah, blah, blah. But I will have downloads to all of the songs that I got for free and are actually legal to distribute. If you really need a song that I post but have no DL available hit me up at gcselects@gmail.com and I can help you out from there.

Nice new dancehall from Mr. Vegas of course. I’m a little late in running into this one but I’ve been listening to it for a bit now and finally deemed it worthy of posting :P. But check out this great track.

This kid is the first singer signed to RedOne’s record label. What came immediately after is this hit summer song Bumpy Ride. This song definitely is going to get playtime on islands with it’s reggae/dancehall influenced sound. Get this song some play time in the U.S. I don’t have a CDQ version of this song available but I’ll post it once I have it.

Chuckie Remix
This remix is a banger, it is available on Chuckie’s soundcloud page for free so naturally I had to post it. This takes the original, and turns it into a house/dubstep remix. First time I’ve ever heard Chuckie use dubstep in any of his songs, and he does it right without changing it to the usual dubstep tempo of 140bpm. Check out this banger.
Major Lazer – Lazers Never Die

New EP album from Major Lazer, I really liked their last mixtape with La Roux. This EP in my opinion is solid, out of 5 songs I didn’t like 2. The Bruk Out and Good Enuff remixes were great, and the new song Sound of Siren is also a great new song for the Major. But Can’t Stop Now sounds like Lil Kim jumped on the mic, and even during the chorus the vocals are purposely out of sync. Being out of sync sounds nice at various parts but especially at the beginning your going to be confused, which is disappointing because I really liked the new beat they added to the song. Jump Up is also a remix that was messed up in my opinion. The original had a simple beat that you could dance to, which I believe is the point of the song. The beat sounds like they couldn’t figure out what they wanted to do with it. But overall 3 good songs out of 5 is still a solid EP, I wish most albums would have that ratio. Major Lazer – Pon De Floor (Beataucue Remix)
A bit late with this post, but when you think about it this blog has only been up for about a week. This is hands down the best real remix of Pon De Floor. I don’t count the Afrojack version because it was extremely similar to the original version besides the breakdown and the added vocals (still a solid remix though).
