I’ve Got A Woman by Ray Charles
This song is obviously a classic, and like a lot of people I went back to listen to a lot of Ray Charles when Ray was released. Georgia was easily my favorite song by the genius, but THIS POST ISN’T ABOUT GEORGIA. It’s about A Woman. What I love about this song the most is how this style is making a underground comeback…ever heard of Janelle Monae? Gold Digger by Kanye West ft Jamie Foxx
It’s scary how well Jamie Foxx can impersonate Ray Charles. It’s really stupid how people don’t realize who Foxx is impersonating (yes I’ve ran into a LOT of people that thought that). But this was a really great single, and obviously took advantage of Ray, considering they were released around the same time. Just too bad a lot of people hate Kanye West now…hopefully his next album makes up for it, without the autotune.
Gold Digger (Diplo Remix)
This is a great remix because it uses samples from the original song and adds a great beat to back it up. Is it just me or does Diplo intentionally make Ray say “I Gotta Pee?” Who knows.
